The Professional Bull Riders, in association with Bayou Place, Houston Lounge LLC, and The Cordish Companies, is excited to announce the grand opening of the newest PBR-themed bar in Houston on Friday, March 25.
“PBR sanctioned the bull riding at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo for the first time this year, and now we have the perfect place for all those fans to go to celebrate with the opening of the newest PBR club,” said PBR President and COO Sean Gleason. “Our goal with the PBR clubs is to create a place that captures the electricity and the warm camaraderie of our events. PBR Houston accomplishes both and does so in spectacular fashion. We can’t wait to open PBR Houston and bring the PBR brand to life every day of the week.”
The grand opening in Houston will include appearances by former PBR riders Brian Herman and “Mighty” Mike White.
Houston becomes the fourth themed location for the world’s premier bull riding organization. PBR Baltimore opened its doors on March 4, joining the PBR Sky Bar, which opened in Kansas City in 2009, and the PBR Rock Bar in Las Vegas, which celebrated its opening in conjunction with the 2010 Built Ford Tough World Finals.
Developed in partnership with the City of Houston, the $22 million Bayou Place has served as a catalyst for an explosion of entertainment-related development in downtown Houston. Located in the heart of the vibrant Theater District and adjacent to the Central Business District, Bayou Place is also home to the Verizon Wireless Theater, Hard Rock Café, Samba Grille, and The Blue Fish, a sushi restaurant favored by locals.
The PBR Built Ford Tough Series features the Top 40 bull riders in the world competing each week against the best bucking bulls. The BFTS crisscrosses the United States, making 28 stops in 23 states. The season began at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York on Jan. 7-9. It all culminates Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas at the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the $1 million Built Ford Tough bonus.
The BFTS is televised in HD each week on VERSUS with select events broadcast on NBC and CBS. The telecasts are produced for the PBR by David Neal Productions, a Los Angeles-based production company led by 30-time Emmy® Award winner and Peabody Award winner David Neal, who serves as executive producer and creative lead.
