PBR veteran Colby Yates left Columbus, Ohio with the event win at the final stop on the 2010 Built Ford Tough Series, the Cooper Tires Invitational supporting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Yates, the only rider to stay on all three bulls, finished second in Round 1, and tied with fan-favorite Cord McCoy for second in Round 2, with an 88-point ride on Boomer Sooner (Boyd/Floyd Bull Company). In the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, Yates was one of only four riders to make the buzzer, covering Paycheck (Hyland Cattle Company) for 82 points. He took home a total of $45,082.50 for the win.
Coming in second in Columbus – and making up some points in the world standings – was Valdiron de Oliveira. After bucking off in Round 1, Oliveria finished fourth in Round 2, with an 87.75-point ride on Uppercut (K-C Bucking Bulls). He won the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, posting the high-point ride of the weekend, staying on Highway 12 (Robinson/Mesa) for 92 points. Pistol Robinson, who won Round 1, finished third in the event average, after bucking off in Round 2, then riding Who Dat (K-C Bucking Bulls/Spark-lin Acres) for 89.5 points in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round.
Reigning World Champion Kody Lostroh continued his strong return to the BFTS, finishing the weekend in fourth place. Lostroh finished seventh in Round 1 on Saturday, but didn’t post a score in Round 2. He then hung on to Bad Rock Fire (C’N Stars Bull Company) in the Built Ford Tough Championship Round for 87.7 points.
Ryan McConnel, who currently sits at No. 5 in the world standings, finished fifth in the average. He tied for third in the first round, and ended up in a three-way tie with Renato Nunes and Ned Cross in Round 2. McConnel rode Flash Band (TNT Rodeo Co) for 84.5 points.
Season To Date
The 2010 PBR season has been the sport’s most competitive ever, with the first 29 events producing 20 different winners. Austin Meier has the most wins with five, while Silvano Alves and Nunes are tied for second with three. J.B. Mauney and Oliveira each have two wins. Seven of the Top 10 riders have an event win and 13 of the Top 20 have a victory.

Colby Yates was awarded the Ford Truck Moment of Truth Bonus. Yates was in the lead going into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, and won the event, so he received the $15,000 bonus. The bonus is increased by $5,000 each week it is not claimed. Once claimed, it returns to $5,000.
