The 13th Annual Jerome Davis bull riding in Archdale, N.C. headlines an action-packed weekend for the Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division which includes two events in both California and Texas and stops in Colorado and Nebraska.
Hosted by PBR co-founder Jerome Davis and his wife Tiffany at the Davis Ranch Arena, the event will be Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets begin at $5 and can be purchased by telephone at (336) 861-7673.
The TPD is the minor-league tour of the PBR, where both established veterans and newcomers to the professional ranks compete against some of the most famous bucking bulls. The TPD gives riders the opportunity to compete in PBR-sanctioned events while earning money to qualify for the Built Ford Tough Series, which is comprised of the Top 40 bull riders in the world. Every five events on the BFTS, riders (based on points) who have slipped below the Top 30 are dropped from the BFTS and the Top 5 riders (based on money earned) from the TPD are allowed to move into the BFTS.
The Central Texas State Fair TPD will be Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton, Texas. Tickets begin at $12 and can be purchased by telephone at (254) 933-5353. The Gilbert Carrillo’s 8 Second Saloon Bulls, Bands & Babes TPD is Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Adam Carrillo's Labor Day at the Lake in Dublin, Texas. Admission to the bull riding is included with admission to the festival.
Hometown favorite Brendon Clark will be joined by Luke Snyder, Cody Campbell and Mike Lee at the Fourth Annual Hollister TPD on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the San Benito County Fairgrounds. PBR bull fighter Shorty Gorham will also be in Hollister, Calif. and two-time PBR World Champion Justin McBride will be performing in concert. Romick Arena in Steamboat Springs, Colo. will host the Rocky Mountain Bull Bash TPD on Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets begin at $20 and are on sale at FM Light & Sons in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
The Jerome Davis event and the stop in Clovis are both American Bucking Bull, Inc. Classics. The ABBI, which introduces young bucking bulls at select BFTS and TPD events, is dedicated to unifying, developing and promoting the bucking bull industry through pedigree preservation; enhancement and promotion of bucking bull ownership, breeding, and welfare; and development of programs and events showcasing the world's finest bucking bull stock. The ABBI is the third-largest cattle registry and is set up to record and preserve the pedigrees of the world's premier bucking bulls.

The first 25 events of the 2010 BFTS season have produced 17 different winners and there are 11 riders in the Top 20 with an event win. Austin Meier of Kinta, Okla. has the most wins with five while Renato Nunes of Buritama, Brazil has three and Valdiron de Oliveira of Aparecida de Goiania, Brazil and rookie Silvano Alves of Pilar, Brazil, each have two wins. The standings lead has changed nine times and six different riders have been ranked first. J.B. Mauney has been first three different times while Meier and Nunes have each been on top twice.
