PBR receives great ratings on CBS

By PBR

The television ratings for the national CBS broadcast of the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series event in Portland, Ore., matched those of Major League Baseball (MLB), which aired on FOX on Saturday, October 3. The GoDaddy.com Invitational presented by Cooper Tires aired on Sunday, October 4 and was stop No. 29 of 31 on the PBR’s elite tour.

In PBR’s first national CBS broadcast of 2009, the average Household Rating (HHLD) was a 1.2 rating.  Although MLB garnered the same rating, PBR had more viewers, with an average of 1,867,000 persons 2+ viewing the broadcast, which was 7.2% more viewers than MLB.  Additionally, PBR’s Average P18-49 Viewership (Median Age) was 904 compared to MLB’s 539, which meant that PBR had 67.7% more viewers within the median age of 45.2 who viewed the event than MLB.  According to Nielsen Ratings, MLB’s median age was 53.8 for their Saturday FOX airing.

PBR will have two more CBS broadcasts—one on Sunday, October 25, from the Mohegan Sun Invitational in Uncasville, Conn., and the other on Sunday, November 1 which comes right in the middle of the 2009 Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas.

The PBR is the premier bull riding organization in the world, boasting contestants from the United States, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Canada. Its events air weekly on VERSUS on Saturday and Sunday nights (please check your local listings for details in your area), and on NBC and CBS throughout the year.  For more information, please visit www.pbrnow.com or contact Katharine Sherrer at 719.242.2800 ext. 3372 or Katharine@pbrnow.com.

**NOTE:  The airtimes for PBR and MLB varied due to time zones; however, both took place over the same weekend on all broadcast networks.

All roads are leading to Las Vegas and you don’t want to miss out on any of the action at the 2009 Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas, Nev.  The world-class event will take place on Oct. 30-Nov 1 and Nov. 5-8 at the Thomas & Mack Center---get your tickets NOW at 866.PBR.SHOW or unlvtickets.com!
