The Sports Museum of America, the nation's first and only fully interactive all-sports experience located in historic Lower Manhattan, will honor the Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) by displaying authentic items from PBR veterans and current riders with some items being donated by the Rider Relief Fund

Randy Bernard, Chief Executive Officer of the PBR and bull rider J.B. Mauney donated the first display items to the museum today, which included:

Protective rider vest of PBR veteran Ross Coleman (Molalla, Ore.).  The rider vest was created by PBR founder, Cody Lambert (Merkel, TX) and serves two primary purposes:  it absorbs shock and dissipates the blow to the body while protecting the torso from threatening punctures caused by direct contact with the bull’s hooves and horns.

One-of-a-kind bull rider glove commemorating the 2008 PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals event.  It is signed by 2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil).  The glove protects the rider’s hand and fingers and makes it easier to hold on to the bull rope.

A rider glove worn by 1997 PBR World Champion Michael Gaffney (Albuquerque, N.M.) during his last full season riding on the Built Ford Tough Series.  Gaffney retired from competition in 2004.

Sponsor shirt worn by two-time PBR World Champion Chris Shivers (Jonesville, LA).  Shivers won his world titles in 2000 and 2003 and was the first World Champion to ever be awarded the $1 million bonus.

Exclusive jersey and shorts of PBR’s World-Class Entertainer Flint Rasmussen (Choteau, MT).  Rasmussen is sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car who sponsors several of PBR’s top riders.  He is often referred to as “Captain Enterprise.”

“As a professional sport that continues to grow each year, the PBR is extremely honored to be recognized by the Sports Museum of America,” said Chief Executive Officer, Randy Bernard, “We look forward to contributing to the institution in the future in order to continue to educate the public about America’s original extreme sport.”

PBR all stars Ty Murray, Adriano Moraes and Justin McBride will all donate items to contribute to the growth of display while it is at the museum. The PBR display will be featured in the “Games People Play” gallery of the Sports Museum of America.

“We are thrilled to add the Professional Bull Riders to the wide array of sports featured in the Museum” said Caleb Koeppel, Chief Executive Officer of the Sports Museum of America. “We hope the display will help commemorate and honor the PBR’s significance and historical achievements in American culture.”

PBR fans can also experience the Sports Museum of America with an exclusive ticket offer. With their ticket stub from the Built Ford Tough Invitational, PBR fans can enjoy the museum at a special rate of $5 for children and $10 for adults.
