Des Moines Classic Round One Results

By PBR

The top 45 bull riders in the world made their way to Des Moines, Iowa for the 19th stop on the elite Professional Bull Riders’ (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) tour. “Titanium Tough” bull rider Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.) took the round one win after riding Frontier Rodeo Company’s bull Flash for 90.75 points. “I found out what bull I drew. They told me that he would buck just as good at the end of the eight seconds as he did at the beginning and it worked out in my favor,” Snyder said of his round winning ride.

Three-time PBR World Champion and last weekend’s Chicago co-event champion Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, SP, Brazil), rode Chad Berger/Clay Struve’s bull Team Equine’s Evil Forces for 90.25 points and a second place finish in round one. No. 2 in the PBR world standings, Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.), took third place with an 88.75 point ride on Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Julie Rosen’s bull Bocephus. Rounding out fourth place was Oklahoma’s Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) with an 88.5 point ride on Texas owned by Chad Berger/Clay Struve.

As the winner of round two at The Cooper Tires Invitational, Mike White (De Kalb, TX) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Des Moines Classic. He received a reride bull and took on Three Alarm, owned by Frontier Rodeo Company, but was bucked off before the eight seconds. Because of the early buck-off, Frontier Rodeo Company was awarded the $5,000 bonus. As the winner of round one at the Des Moines Classic, Luke Snyder (Raymore, Mo.) will be eligible to compete for the $5,000 bonus during the second round of competition.

The Des Moines Classic continues tomorrow as the top 45 bull riders compete in round two and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round to see who will take home the first-ever Des Moines event title. The event airs on VERSUS at 10:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, May 3 and at 12:00 a.m. EST on Monday, May 5.
