The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is pleased to announce today that Sean Gleason will transition to the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) effective immediately. Gleason has held the title of Chief Operating Officer (COO) with the PBR since 2000 and has been a vital leader in the unprecedented growth of the sport.

The reorganization allows for the addition of a new Chief Operating Officer to the PBR senior management team.  The newly defined duties of the Chief Operating Officer will focus on event scheduling and production as well as day to day PBR operations.  With the exponential growth of the company and the sport of professional bull riding, the move will allow Gleason to concentrate on the numerous revenue and new business opportunities that have been among his duties to date.

"Over the last seven years, the duties typically associated with a COO and CMO were combined and managed by Sean.  As we continue to grow, both of us have recognized the need for a new addition to the senior management team.  His (Gleason's) most significant contributions to the PBR center around revenue and new business development opportunities and he will continue to guide those initiatives," said Randy Bernard, Chief Executive Officer of the PBR.

Gleason will continue to be responsible for the Sponsorship, Marketing, Public Relations, Fan Relations, Media Services and Business Development departments.  "I am excited about the opportunity to add another member to our senior management team," said Gleason, "my primary duties and responsibilities won't change substantially, but the addition of a true COO will give us the additional resources we need to more effectively manage the business and better focus on strategic priorities."

During Gleason's tenure as COO, the PBR audience has doubled in size to nearly 20 million fans in the United States. The PBR hosted its first tour in 1994 with eight events and $250,000 in prize money.  In 2007, the PBR will sanction more than 300 events around the globe with more than $11 million in prize purse payout. The Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) presented by Wrangler is the elite tour that all aspiring bull riders hope to compete on each weekend. The U.S. minor league tours include the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour, and the Discovery Tour.

Gleason was instrumental in the expansion of the PBR to an international sport in 2006. By establishing tours in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia the sport of professional bull riding now plays to a global audience. More than 1,200 bull riders around the world hold PBR memberships and can compete at any of the events in five countries.

Gleason joined the PBR in 2000 after ten years in the music, video and video game industries.  He joined PBR after working with Sierra Sports.
