Fans can expect to see current points leader and 2005 PBR World Champion Justin McBride (Elk City, Okla.) continue to battle the other top 45 riders in the world. McBride is on tap to have his most successful season on tour to date. He's won six BFTS events this season and $341,272 in PBR bucks. His closest contender is 2006 Daisy Rookie of the Year J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) who has three event wins to his credit and an astounding $372,571 in season earnings. The battle between veteran and young gun is sure to rage through the PBR's 2007 Built Ford Tough World Finals presented by Wrangler in Las Vegas, Nev. October 26-28 and November 1-4.
Other competitors expected to thrill Idaho bull riding fans are PBR's only three-time World Champion, Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, Sao Paulo, Brazil), two-time PBR World Champion Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.), and 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee. 2005 Nampa event champion and PBR veteran Tater Porter (Kenansville, Fla.) will also be looking for his first event win of the 2007 season.
The format consists of three rounds of competition. The first two rounds feature the same 45 qualified riders randomly matched against the sport's rankest bulls. The top 15 riders based upon their total cumulative score after two rounds qualify for a final decisive round of action, which happens at the conclusion of the second performance on Saturday, April 28. The rider with the highest score on three bulls will earn the coveted Nampa Classic event title. Every tour point is pivotal in determining who will win the crown of PBR World Champion and the cool million dollars that accompanies it.
