The world’s top 45 bull riders will clash against the best bulls in the industry in this three-day event featuring three-time PBR World Champion Adriano Moraes (Sao Paulo, Brazil), 2005 World Champion Justin McBride (Elk City, Okla.), 2006 PBR Daisy Rookie of the Year J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) and PBR superstars like Sean Willingham (Summerville, Ga.) and Brian Canter (Randleman, N.C.)
“The PBR has some of the toughest bull riders in the world. I’ve been watching the PBR Tour for a while and have befriended a couple of the cowboys on tour,” explained Dale Earnhardt, Jr., NASCAR’s most popular driver. “They are great guys, but to do what they do, you not only need to be an excellent athlete, but a little psycho too. I’d much rather be in my race car in a pack going three wide at 200 mph for days, than to climb on a 2,000 pound angry bull for eight seconds. I’m really looking forward to being involved with bringing the PBR to Charlotte. It’s going to be a fun weekend in January,” Earnhardt added.
The format consists of four rounds of competition. The first three rounds feature the same 45 qualified riders randomly matched against the sport’s rankest bulls. The top 15 riders based upon their total cumulative score after three rounds qualify for a final decisive round of action, which happens at the conclusion of the third performance on Sunday, January 28. The rider with the highest score on four bulls will earn the coveted Dale Jr. PBR Clash event title.
Tickets start at $20 and guarantee you more than two hours of bull riding action including rock & roll music, pyrotechnics and an up close and personal view of the fastest growing sport in the U.S. Tickets are available at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena Box Office, online at charlottebobcatsarena.com, by phone at 800-495-2295, or at your local Lebo’s retail store.
