The explosive event featured 55 of the best three and four year old bulls in the industry going head to head with some of the top young guns in the PBR. The WBBC featured the biggest purse in the history of bucking bull classic events with $544,000 up for grabs. The bulls qualified for the competition over a course of 20 events held during the regular season.
Crazy Train owned by D&H Land & Cattle Co. placed second with a score of 354.75 points. D&H Land & Cattle Co. earned $69,572 for the bull's effort. Roy Carter Bucking Bulls' Eddie Munster wrapped up third place with 353.5 points and earned $53,929. Rounding out the top five were Brett Densmore's Ace's Heart Breaker with 351.5 points and Woodruff/XS Ranch's Redchester with 350 points. The stock contractors were awarded $45,607 and $35,366 respectively for their bull's performances.
The ABBI World Finals Futurity was held in conjunction with the WBBC. Lyndal Hurst and Vernon Guidry's great two-year old bull, 106, took top honors and the $50,000 prize in the ABBI World Finals Futurity by nearly 20 points. The judges awarded the bull's consistency with scores of 131 and 132 points in each round, with a total score of 263. Over the past two days, the ABBI World Finals Futurity showcased the best two-year old bulls in the industry. Each of the 100 up and coming stars had to qualify through points earned at 20 regular season events. The competition boasted the biggest payout in bucking bull futurities with $166,000 in prize money.
JEFE, owned by Boyd and Teague was second in the Futurity with 244 points in two rounds. Boyd and Teague earned $24,968 for the performance. Rounding out the top three was The Undertaker owned by D&H/Buck/Watts with 240 points and $14,980.50 in earnings.
PBR riders from the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour faced off against the WBBC bulls to thrill fans during the two-day competition. Ryan McConnel (Cortez, Colo.) claimed the event championship with 173.5 points on two head. McConnel added $6,813 to his career PBR 2007 PBR season earnings. Helton Luis da Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Shawn Waite (Redmond, Ore.) were the only other riders who covered two bulls.
