Wrangler University will be hosting competitions starting on Friday, October 27 through Sunday, October 29, Tuesday, October 31, and Thursday, November 2 through Saturday, November 4 in the PBR FanZone.
A calf scramble for kids between the ages of seven and 12, as well as a bull riding seminar, add to the fun of Wrangler University. The World Championship Mutton Bustin’ presented by Wrangler University is just one exciting element within the PBR FanZone & Marketplace located in Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
For those unfamiliar with the Mutton Bustin’ event, you have to see it first hand to appreciate it. Kids ages six and under and 60 pounds or lighter are eligible to compete. Each contestant is judged upon the skill demonstrated as he or she attempts to stay aboard a sheep for the required six seconds. Kids are outfitted with protective head gear and will receive assistance from event organizers as well as the one parent that is allowed to accompany them. Special prizes will be awarded in the Mutton Bustin’ and Calf Scramble events and all participants will receive a goody bag. The entry fee is $5 per event each day.
