Don't Miss the ABBI World Bucking Bull Classic & World Finals Futurity

By PBR

Headlining a hot list of American Bucking Bull, Inc. (ABBI) action during the Professional Bull Riders’ (PBR) Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas, Nev., Oct. 27 through Nov. 5, is the World Bucking Bull Classic (WBBC). ABBI events held in conjunction with the 2006 World Finals represent the richest events held exclusively for stock contractors and breeders in the bucking bull industry and take place at the new South Coast Equestrian Center. The total combined estimated payout in 2006 is an impressive $700,000. When the dust settled on last year’s ABBI World Finals events, entries from D&H Cattle Co. and their partners took home over $295,540 from Classic and Futurity action. The stakes are even higher this year.

$200,000 in prize money will be awarded to the World Champion Bull upon conclusion of WBBC action, which takes place at the South Coast on Monday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. each evening. Bull riders will also be vying for big bucks during Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour action, which takes place in conjunction with the WBBC. The WBBC guarantees the 55 best three-and four-year-old bulls in the country. Leading the pack of qualifiers as of press time is defending WBBC champion D&H Cattle/Buck Cattle’s Stray Kitty. Stray Kitty has ABBI Classic Series earnings totaling $61,991 with 1,688.71 in series points. Trailing Stray Kitty in the race to become the WBBC Champion is Travis Jones and Wally Barnette’s Encore with $42,185 in earnings and 1,472.45 series points.

Additionally, the ABBI World Finals Futurity will feature $150,000 in added prize money and will award $50,000 to the winner. The event showcases 100 of the top two year old bucking bulls in the nation, and takes place on Monday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.

Tickets for the WBBC are available in advance for $20 and may be purchased by calling 702-284-7777, toll free at 1-888-234-2334, or online at www.southcoastcasino.com/entertainment/buy-tickets-equestrian.php. General admission tickets are $25 at the door. There is no cost of admission to the World Finals Futurity.

The World Finals Bucking Bull Sale is another annual ABBI highlight that no one will want to miss. The event takes place at the South Coast on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. when 100 select consignments will be offered. The sale will be broadcast at 6 p.m. (PST) on VERSUS (formerly OLN). Some of the best bucking bulls to ever be offered at public auction are a part of the event, including proven PBR bulls and 3- and 4-year old bulls from the ABBI Classic program. Additionally, yearling and weanling prospects will be offered along with some of the most elite embryo transplant pregnancies in the history of the industry. To purchase cattle, please register at
580.928.5001. Catalogs are currently available on line at www.abbinow.com.
