Mighty Mike White transitioned smoothly back to the world of professional bull riding over the weekend, claiming an event title in Anchorage, Alaska, and just under $15,000 dollars in prize money. White has been recovering from a broken back he sustained in Kansas City, Mo., and while his riding ability was never in question, he has proved he intends to resume his winning ways. The unlikely suspect dominated the competition at the second consecutive weekend of two Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) Enterprise Rent-A-Car tour events taking place in Alaska. The Last Frontier PBR Challenge featured an impressive $50,000 in added prize money, 75 of the industry's most dominant bucking bulls, and some of the best bull riders in the world. Kody Lostroh (LaSalle, Colo.) was named the Last Frontier PBR Challenge champion in Fairbanks, Alaska, to the tune of $16,016.10 in prize money the previous weekend.
The current Daisy Rookie of the Year Race saw a lead change over the weekend, as J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, N.C.) surpassed Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) in qualifier dollars. Mauney placed second in the Last Frontier PBR Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour Challenge taking home $10,681 dollars in the process. The pursuit for Rookie of the Year honors remains neck-and-neck, with Mauney leading the pack by just over $1,200 dollars.
