The Built Ford Tough Series Kicks Off 2007 Season in New York

By PBR

The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) is proud to announce that the elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) will make its debut in New York City at Madison Square Garden. The Versus Invitational presented by Amp'd Mobile will kick off the 2007 BFTS season on January 6 with two performances at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and one performance on January 7 at 1 p.m. OLN, the cable home of the PBR, is the title sponsor of the event, which reflects the network's new moniker - Versus.

The historic venue hosted the PBR's U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. Challenger Tour in November of 2000—the event was won by Paulo Crimber (Olimpia, Brazil). However, this is the first time the BFTS will premiere at The Garden. The two-day event will showcase the top 45 bull riders in the world against the best bucking bulls in the industry along with pyrotechnics and rock-n-roll excitement.

"I believe that when you take the World's Most Famous Arena, add passionate fans in America's city, and bring in the best riders and bulls in the world, you create an energy that will make for one of the very best PBR events ever," said PBR CEO Randy Bernard.

The Garden hosts 400 world-class events annually. The arena was home to the World's Championship Rodeo from the early 1900's through 1959. However, it will be the first time the arena will host the world renowned BFTS.

"I think the PBR is ready for New York City and I think the fans of New York are ready for the PBR. There isn't a higher level of professional bull riding than this. It does not matter if you're a man or woman, young or old, there's something for everyone. Whether you're there for the great rides or the wild wrecks, bull riding as with other professional sports is so much more exciting and powerful live. It's a sport you need to see in person," stated Ty Murray, PBR President and nine-time World Champion cowboy.

"We have been a proud partner of the PBR since 2003, and we look forward to working with them to bring The Versus Invitational to New York City," said Gavin Harvey, President of OLN/Versus. "We chose Versus as the new name of the network because it evokes competition, and I don't think it gets much more competitive than trying to stay atop a rank, 2,000-lb bull. It is the true test of man vs. beast."

Madison
Square Garden has a lengthy tradition of hosting a variety of sports and entertainment events for the whole family and we look forward to showcasing the start of the 2007 Built Ford Tough Series season," said Joel Fisher, Senior Vice President, Sports Properties for Madison Square Garden. "This event is a unique addition to next year's Garden lineup."
Tickets go on sale on June 21 and start at just $15. To purchase tickets, please contact Ticketmaster at 212-307-7171 or log on to www.Ticketmaster.com. TeamPBR tickets are available by visiting www.pbrnow.com.
