The Professional Bull Riders Hit Hawaii

Cheeseburger Island Style PBR Hawaii All Star Challenge Slated for November 2006

By PBR

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) are excited to announce that plans are underway to bring the toughest sport on dirt to the beaches of Hawaii. For the first time in PBR history, top ranked bull riding athletes will compete on the islands. PBR management is working to deliver a double shot of PBR action in November, the first of which is slated for November 10-11 when the Myron Duarte Maui Challenge hits Maui. From Maui the tour will travel to Honolulu where the Cheeseburger Island Style PBR Hawaii All Star Challenge presented by Amp'd Mobile takes place on November 17-18.

The Maui event will take place at the War Memorial Football Stadium and features $50,000 in added prize money, while the Cheeseburger Island Style PBR Hawaii All Star Challenge in Honolulu will showcase the top 15 PBR athletes as well as five PBR riders to be determined by a vote of the fans. The unique event boasts $80,000 in added prize money and will be hosted by the Blaisdell Center. All earnings will count toward qualification to the 2007 PBR World Finals in Las Vegas. May 1 is the targeted date for tickets to go on sale for the Cheeseburger Island Style PBR Hawaii All Star Challenge. Tickets will be available through all Ticketmaster outlets or via www.Ticketmaster.com. Additional details will be released as they become available.

The Maui and Honolulu events guarantee cutting edge excitement, as well as the world's greatest bull riders and of course the rankest bulls in the industry. The events promise all the explosive excitement and the adrenaline charged atmosphere typical of any PBR competition. For the first time Hawaii will get a taste of some of the toughest athletes in sports with top riders like two-time PBR World Champion Adriano Moraes (Sao Paulo, Brazil), 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas), two time PBR World Champion Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.), and former PBR Rookie of the Year Jody Newberry (Ada, Okla.) testing their skills.
