Preliminary round action of the Ty Murray Invitational presented by Sandia Resort and Casino, a part of the Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS), concluded from Tingley Coliseum this evening. The second and third performances of the three-day event will take place on Saturday, April 1 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. The tour makes consecutive stops each weekend from now through the end of April and promises bull riding fans one of the most intense and action packed races in sports. Sunday's action culminates with an electrifying championship round for the top 15 qualifiers who will be chasing a shot at the prestigious event title, and ultimately gunning for the 2006 million dollar Built Ford Tough World Championship.

The Ty Murray Invitational airs at 8 p.m. on both Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 on OLN (EST). Please check your local listings or visit http://www.pbrnow.com/media/tv/ for the complete broadcast schedule.

Cody Whitney (Asher, Okla.) dominated first round action with a score of 90.25 points on 5G Bucking Bulls' Dash Cat. As the first round winner Whitney was eligible to compete for a $30,000 bonus reward in the Mossy Oak Shoot Out. Whitney faced Andrews Rodeo Company's Bo's Excuse and was unsuccessful in his attempt.
