The race for the PBR World Championship and coveted million-dollar bonus that comes with the title continues to intensify. 2000 and 2003 PBR World Champion Chris Shivers (Jonesville, La.) won his third event of the season on Sunday in Phoenix propelling him to the top of the BFTS standings. Shivers leads his nearest competitor, 2005 World Finals Event winner Guilherme Marchi (Leme, Brazil), by 374.75 points. Rounding out the top five is New Mexico young gun Travis Briscoe (Edgewood, N.M.), two time World Champion Adriano Moraes (Sao Paulo, Brazil), and 2003 World Finals Event winner Jody Newberry (Ada, Okla.) Portland fans will be cheering on Oregon bull riding sensation Ross Coleman (Redmond, Ore.) who currently ranks sixth in the World and recently crossed the one million dollar mark in career earnings.
