The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) debut at the
MCI Center in Washington, D.C. for a one-day bull riding event on
Sunday, October 23rd at 7 p.m.'' The U.S. Capital Invitational, part of the PBR's U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company (USSTC) Challenger tour, brings 40 of the best PBR riders battling the rankest bucking bulls in the industry to the nation's capital.' At the end of the evening, the top 10 riders will compete in a championship round.' The event championship will go to the rider with the highest cumulative score on two bulls.

Like a minor league baseball team, the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour feeds the PBR's elite Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS), presented by Wrangler.' Monthly throughout the season, the top 5 riders on the USSTC Challenger Tour are brought up to the BFTS ranks of competition and 5 riders on the BFTS tour are moved to the USSTC circuit.' This ensures that the best riders are always competing at the top levels.' Money earned on the USSTC Challenger Tour, as well as earned on all of the PBR's minor league circuits, counts toward qualification for the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals which take place in Las Vegas each year.
