By PBR

Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company (USSTC) Challenger Tour action from Washington D.C. concluded on Sunday, October 23 after an explosive evening of bull riding in the nation's capitol. Jay Pahlke (Bismarck, N.D.) owned top honors capturing the event win during the inaugural Challenger Tour event of 2006. Further west in Kansas City, Mo. it was Bowdy Peach (Mooreland, Okla.) who took top honors during the first Enterprise Tour event of the 2006 season. Earnings from the PBR Enterprise Tour Open held at the American Royal/Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. on October 21-22 and the U.S. Capitol Invitational held at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. count toward the 2006 season.

In Kansas City Peach tied for top honors in the preliminary go round with Dustin Hall (Battlefield, Mo.) who topped Scott Burris's Tombstone for 89 points. Peach followed up with 89.5 championship points in final round action to take the event title and $10,867 by a convincing 6.5 point margin over runner-up Tyler Smith (Fruita, Colo.) who earned $6,210. Peach was 83 points on Doug Butcher's Lawman on the first round and 89.5 points aboard Jesse Hill's Vegas Nights during final round action. Meanwhile in Washington D.C. Rob Bell (Water Valley, Alberta, Canada) captured first place in the preliminary go round with 80 points aboard Mark Reed's bull Full Throttle, however failed to cover his finals draw leaving the door open for Pahlke whose 161 point cumulative score was good enough for first place in the aggregate and $4,617 in PBR bucks.

Challenger Tour action gives PBR athletes lucrative opportunities to win coveted dollars that count toward qualification for the PBR's crown jewel - the Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas, Nev. The U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour and Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour each visit various cities from coast to coast across the United States and give the rising stars of the PBR a chance to compete alongside the seasoned veterans of bull riding. Upcoming Enterprise Rent-A-Car Tour action is slated for October 31 and November 1 when the American Bucking Bull, Inc. World Bucking Bull Classic Enterprise Tour invades Las Vegas in conjunction with the World Finals. Then on November 11-12, the Challenger Tour travels to San Angelo, Texas for the Toro Del Conchos U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour event.
