Now enter Adriano's two younger brothers, Andre' and Allan. The band of bull riding brothers who currently reside together in Keller, Texas, have accumulated $344,275 in 2004 PBR season earnings. For the first time in PBR history, three brothers appear destined to compete side by side at the 2004 Built Ford Tough World Finals taking place October 22nd through the 31st. Simply stated, the Moraes gene-pool is quickly creating a bull riding dynasty.
"I'm very excited because we are the first three brothers on tour and the first three brothers at the Finals. We will go down in history as the first, and it's very exciting," states Adriano Moraes.
Younger than Adriano by two years, Andre' entered the PBR during the 2001 season making a quick mark and qualifying for his first PBR Finals. While Andre' has spent much of 2004 sidelined with a knee injury suffered during the U.S. Army Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo. in April, he has recently returned to action capturing second place honors during Humps N Horns Series action held on August 20th through the 22nd in Sacramento, Calif. Despite his injury induced hiatus Andre', who resides in Agudos, Sao Paulo, Brazil when he is not competing on the tour, has amassed $28,339 in season earnings and currently sits 34th in the World Finals Qualifier standings.
Despite Andre's absence from competition this summer, the Moraes clan was still well represented when 26 year-old Allan burst onto the scene with two back-to-back first place U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour championships. Allan managed his largest win of the season in June when he dominated the competition during the City of Industry, Calif. USSTC Challenger Tour event. He then followed up that $9,526 victory with a second Challenger Tour event title in Prescott, Ariz. at the end of June, adding $8,400 to his earnings record. Allan Moraes sits poised comfortably in the 24th position in the PBR World Finals Qualifier standings with season earnings totaling $37,997.
Adds Moraes, "I love having my brothers here (in Keller, Texas) so I don't have to worry about them so much. I can pray and exercise with them and help guide them." Adriano's personal motto -- "work, faith, and humbleness" are obviously traits that his siblings seem to share as evidenced by their passion for competition and current success in the arena. Look for the compelling trio to continue their winning ways at the upcoming World Finals, which promises eleven days of the most thrilling bull riding action to be found anywhere in the world.
