Custer, 37, is a founding PBR member and first joined the PBR board of directors in 2001. He made his final competitive appearance during the 2003 PBR World Finals, at which time he was also awarded the prestigious PBR Ring of Honor award. Since his retirement Custer has continued his diligent work to promote the Pro Bull Riding Outreach Christian ministry, as well as assuming the reins of the PBR's judging program. Custer resides in Wickenburg, Ariz. with his wife Stacey and their children Aaron, Brett, and Lacey.
Hart, who recently turned 29, was the fifth bull rider in PBR history to cross the million-dollar earnings mark and also became known as the "Ironman" after attending a record 197 consecutive Built Ford Tough Series events during the nine seasons spanning 1994 to 2003. Hart captured the honor of 1995 PBR Rookie of the Year, and in 2002 rode his way to the coveted PBR World Finals event championship. Hart's current interests range from the bucking bull breeding business through involvement in the American Bucking Bull, Inc. (ABBI), to event promotions. Hart's Challenger Tour event was voted by his peers as the top event of the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour for two consecutive seasons. Hart is single and resides in Marietta. His brother is 1999 PBR World Champion Cody Hart.
The PBR board of directors is comprised of Tuff Hedeman, Cody Lambert, Cody Custer, Michael Gaffney, J.W. Hart, Ty Murray, Aaron Semas, and Tom Teague. The PBR is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has over 600 athletes competing in more than 100 PBR sanctioned competitions. More than one million spectators attend PBR events each year.
