Boudreaux Campbell was born with cowboy in his blood and a grin that never fades. The Crockett, Texas, native grew up surrounded by horses, cattle, and a deep love for the Western way of life. His dad, Jay Campbell, took him to a rodeo when he was just 3 years old — and Boudreaux was hooked. Weeks later, he climbed on his first sheep, a woolly little outlaw named Woolly Bully, and never looked back.
By high school, Campbell was already turning heads. A standout in both the junior and high school rodeo ranks, he qualified for the State Finals three times and the National Finals twice before skipping his senior season to buy his pro card. In 2017, during his rookie year in the PRCA, he qualified for his first National Finals Rodeo, signaling the rise of a new Texas powerhouse.
Campbell made his PBR debut in 2018, and by 2020, he was a breakout star — winning the PBR World Finals, earning Rookie of the Year honors, and finishing No. 3 in the world after going 4-for-5 in Arlington. In 2021, he proved it was no fluke, logging a career-best 95.5-point ride on Woopaa and closing the season inside the Top 10 once again.
When the PBR Teams Series launched in 2022, Campbell was drafted by the Carolina Cowboys, where he made history with the PBR Teams league’s first-ever 90-point ride, covering Dr. Campbell for 90 points in Cheyenne. Two years later, he was traded to the Missouri Thunder, where under the guidance of Coach Ross Coleman — a man he’s long looked up to — he helped lead the Thunder to the 2025 Teams Championship Game in Las Vegas.
Newly wed and never short on personality, Campbell is as quick with a joke as he is to nod his head in the chute. He’s a sucker for a fountain Dr Pepper, keeps Psalm 27:1 in his gear bag, and still laughs about naming a bull Little Kitty. Goofy, gritty, and impossible to miss, Campbell’s the cowboy with a punchline — and a smile that never quits.
