Tecovas Triple Aught

Biography

Tecovas Triple Aught, in his owner’s words, is “a little turd sometimes” — but in the best possible way. He’s a big puppy with a kind soul, never mean, and about as easygoing as a 1,550-pound bull can be. Raised by a 15-year-old girl, he grew up handled, trusted, and understood, which is why Addi can do just about anything she wants to him.

Nicknamed Trip or Trip Trip, Triple Aught wasn’t always this calm. As a wild yearling, you couldn’t get near him, and as a young bucking calf he struggled to stay on his feet. Over time, it all came together. He was marked 90 in his futurity days and later posted a career-high 43.75 points, growing into a bull who knows his job and does it well.

Leading up to the bucking, you can still pet him. He’s good in the trailer, flips the switch only when it’s time to work, and then goes right back to being himself. Addi stretches his back legs, picks up his feet, rides him around, and when he rolls over and gives the belly-scratch signal, he’s more than happy to soak up the attention.

Triple Aught loves alfalfa pellets, watches videos of his own outs, and throws calves that act just like him. He’s sired plenty of offspring, including a son named Campeão, Portuguese for Champion. Pair Triple Aught with Haymaker and you get Paint Power, complete with matching green tail bags featuring both bulls and the words “Paint Power,” for spa days when his tail gets washed and braided.

Born April 10, Tecovas Triple Aught is an Aries through and through — fiery when it’s time to work, a big puppy when it’s not.
