Woopaa didn’t build his legacy by being impossible to ride. He built it by making history when the best riders in the world matched him jump for jump.
The 2021 PBR World Champion Bull became one of the sport’s most electric bovine athletes, known for producing some of the highest-scored rides in PBR history. Owned by Larry Barker and stock contractor Laramie Wilson, Woopaa competed from 2020 to 2023 and quickly became a championship-round draw capable of changing the record book in eight seconds.
His career-defining partnership came with Jose Vitor Leme. In 2020, Woopaa helped Leme clinch his first PBR World Championship with a 95.75-point ride at the PBR World Finals. One year later, the pair set a new PBR record with a 97.75-point ride in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before raising the mark again at the 2021 PBR World Finals with a 98.75-point ride — the highest-scored ride in PBR history. Woopaa earned a 48.75-point bull score in the out, the highest score ever awarded to a bull ridden for eight seconds.
Woopaa’s 2021 season secured his place among the sport’s elite. He won the PBR World Champion Bull title, Bull of the World Finals and finished the season with a 46.93-point average. He also helped produce the three highest-scored rides in PBR history, including Leme’s 98.75 and 97.75, and Dalton Kasel’s 96.75-point ride in San Antonio.
Across all levels of competition, Woopaa recorded 38 outs, with 27 marked 45 points or higher. Though he was ridden 16 times, all but one of those qualified rides scored 90 points or more, making him one of the rare bulls whose greatness often showed through historic rides rather than buckoffs alone.
Retired in 2023, Woopaa remains one of the most influential bulls of the modern PBR era — a world champion whose name is tied not only to a gold buckle, but to the greatest scores the sport has ever seen.
