FORT WORTH, Texas – At the twenty-seventh iteration of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, Ednelio Almeida (Cacoal, Brazil) was the only rider to go a perfect 2-for-2 to be crowned the event’s champion.
The Nashville Stampede’s Almeida began his evening by covering Day Late (Universal Pro Rodeo/Rachel & Dustin Powell) for an event-high 85.5 points in Round 1, shooting out to an early lead.
With multiple riders right on his spurs, Almeida locked in for the final round. He rocketed out of the chutes atop CMSR 699 (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) and hung on until the horn for 77 points to keep him atop the leaderboard.
Almeida rejoined his teammates in Austin for Gambler Days after garnering a crucial 57 Challenger Series points.
2002 PBR World Champion Ednei Caminhas (Indaiatuba, Brazil) tied with Robson Guedes (Descalvado, Brazil) for second place, both posting 84-point rides.
After being bucked off by IT-7440 (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC) in Round 1, the veteran Caminhas rallied to make the 8 on Wound Up (Melton Bull Co) in Round 2.
Guedes topped Blue Moon (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) in the first round and had a chance to overtake Almeida in Round 2 but was unseated by Wises’ 101st Airbourne (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) to end this evening.
Caminhas left Cowtown with 31 Challenger Points, while Guedes secured 28 points for his efforts.

The Texan started strong, covering Spittin Image (Universal Pro Rodeo) for 83.5 points in Round 1, but was bested by Rodeo Stray (4L & Diamond 5 Rodeo Company) in the final round.
Rounding out the Top 5 was Julio Cesar Marques (Tatui, Brazil).
A reserve rider for the Kansas City Outlaws, Marques sat tall atop Conagher (4L & Diamond 5 Rodeo Company) in Round 1 but was unable to overtake Almeida after losing the rope in 7.47 seconds on CMSR 967 (Stockyards Pro Rodeo) in the final round.
Marques headed to Gambler Days after gaining 17.5 Challenger Points in Fort Worth.
Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC’s animal athletes led a strong bull pen, as both Doze Off (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC) and Trophy Hunter (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC) were marked 43.5 points for their Round 1 efforts to tie for Bull of the Event.
