In St. Louis, Jose Vitor Leme was up to his usual Jose Vitor Leme things. Meanwhile, Daylon Swearingen got back to basics – and back to the winner’s circle – and riders on the bubble fought to secure a place in the Top 30. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.
On the Unleash The Beast…
Another day, another Unleash The Beast event, another Jose Vitor Leme win. Leme went 4-for-4 in St. Louis, earning his third event win of the season and pushing his riding percentage to 80%. (Yes, you read that correctly.)
Leme also reclaimed the world No. 1 ranking in the sixth lead change atop the standings this season. In all of the 2019 regular season, the world No. 1 changed only five times.
The other big winner in St. Louis was Daylon Swearingen, whose third career 90-point ride earned him the 15/15 Bucking Battle victory.
Swearingen also won the championship round with another 90-point effort. This all came after spending some time getting on practice bulls at Cody Lambert’s ranch.
Claudio Montanha Jr., meanwhile, won Round 1 to move up to No. 13 in the world standings.
Taylor Toves is battling to stay inside the Top 30 in the world as the next UTB cutline approaches, and an eighth-place finish in St. Louis made him a little bit safer.
Lucas Divino may have a broken hand, but that’s not going to stop him as he pursues a berth on the Unleash The Beast.
World No. 2 Jess Lockwood was stepped on by Bezerk after his buckoff in the championship round, but the two-time World Champion says he’ll be okay for Kansas City this weekend.
Meanwhile, on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour…
Bruno Scaranello won the Hampton Classic for his first-ever win on U.S. soil.
Tye Chandler went 2-for-2 to take the event win in Worcester.

No one better to bid farewell to Cliff Richardson than the guy who knows him best.
