The preliminary go round of this weekend's Tulsa Express PBR Classic presented by Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino, stop number 25 on the elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS), concluded tonight from the Tulsa Convention Center. The Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) Tulsa Express PBR Classic presented by Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino will feature the elite PBR athletes back for more hard-hitting action in rounds two and three, which take place on Saturday, July 30 at 6:50 p.m. and Sunday, July 31 at 2:00 p.m. Sunday's final performance culminates with an electrifying championship round consisting of the top 15 qualifiers, each pursuing a prestigious tour event win and ultimately the million dollar Built Ford Tough World Championship. The Tulsa event will air on the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) on Saturday, July 30 live and Sunday, July 31 at 8:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time. Justin McBride (Elk City, OK) and Mike White (De Kalb, TX) split first honors to the tune of $2,340 qualifier dollars and 182.5 BFTS points. McBride topped Washita Wrangler of D & H Cattle Company for 87.5 points while White took Downdraft of Beutler and Gaylord Rodeo Company for and 87.5 point trip. With an identical round marking from the back judge the deciding factor, the cowboys reverted to a coin toss to decide who would board the Mossy Oak Shootout Bull for $15,000 in prize money. Mike White won the coin toss and made the whistle on D&H Cattle Company's Leroy for 90.5 points.
Mike Collins (Adair, OK) finished 3rd with an 86.5 atop Craig Smith's What About Me and Cody Hart rounded out the top 4 with an 85.5 point score on Herrington Cattle Company's What's That.
Bull riding fans in Tulsa were treated to an added bonus, as the American Bucking Bull Classic (ABBI) produced the Tulsa ABBI Classic event. The Tulsa ABBI Classic featured the best three- and four-year-old bucking bulls in the country attempting to qualify for the ABBI World Bucking Bull Classic (WBBC) Finals where an unprecedented $150,000 will be awarded to the World Champion Bull. The WBBC Finals takes place at the Orleans Arena on Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1 at 8:00 p.m. each evening. The top three bulls were: 1) D&H Cattle/Watts/Buck's Sports Machine, 92.5 winning $10,226 2) Hart Cattle Company's Cat Man Do, 89.5 winning $5,844 and 3) D&H Cattle/Buck's Big Deal, 88.75 winning $4,383.
The final addition to the edge of your seat action was the Dickies National Bullfighting Championship where fearless bull fighters faced-off against the rankest Mexican fighting bulls in the business. Wasey Munsell (Ulysses, KS) came out on top earning a 91 point score for his agility and keen maneuvers. Coming in 2nd was Andy Burlee (Brighton, MO) with an 89 point score. Unfortunately, Brandon McClure was injured on his first maneuver and possibly sustained broken hip, he did not receive a score.
