Montana Silversmiths extends PBR partnership with new five-year deal
Sponsorship program with PBR is Montana Silversmiths’ largest sports marketing platform.
PUEBLO, Colo. – In professional bull riding, the trophy of choice is a belt buckle. It’s the ultimate symbol of achievement worn with pride by every half-crazy cowboy willing to endure the inevitable self-doubts, pain and punishment to earn it.
At PBR-produced events, every time a rider accepts that “trophy” for doing what it takes to be the best, the buckle presented is one hand crafted by Montana Silversmiths.
And now with the launch of a new league putting individual riders on teams, each year’s PBR Camping World Team Series championship winner will have their logo on the world’s largest precious metals Championship Trophy crafted by Montana Silversmiths.
To build on this monumental relationship, Montana Silversmiths and PBR today announced a five-year renewal of a partnership that spans across PBR’s top U.S. tours and events – the Unleash The Beast, Camping World Team Series, Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour and Challenger Series. This includes custom buckles awarded to each regular-season event winner, World Finals round winners, Stock Contractor of the Year, Rookie of the Year, World Finals event winner and PBR World Champion.
Montana Silversmiths, which sets the gold and silver standard of excellence in buckles and jewelry sold in more than 3,500 retail locations in North America, has been the Official Buckle Partner of the PBR since 2011.
The company’s program with the world’s leading bull riding organization is its largest sports marketing platform.
“Montana Silversmiths and PBR have been working shoulder to shoulder since 2011, and we are honored to continue our partnership today and into the future,” said Lance Neirby, CEO Montana Silversmiths.
“Partnerships in the Western industry are so much more than return on investment. They are based on a common purpose, and our relationship with PBR is built on shared values. We create world-class products for each event, anchored by our PBR partnership. The pride of our company is also marked by the amazing achievements of the PBR. We look forward to building the most exceptional championship buckles and monumental, larger-than-life awards that the industry has ever seen!”
“Every bull rider works incredibly hard to claim each event’s belt buckle, and we’re tremendously proud to have Montana Silversmiths crafting every buckle every PBR rider wins at our events along with the world’s largest precious metals Championship Trophy Buckle for the PBR Camping World Team Series,” said Sean Gleason, Commissioner and CEO, PBR.
The Team Championship buckle – the unofficial world’s largest sterling silver buckle – weighs nearly 20 pounds and measures 24 inches by 18.5 inches, while rose-gold copper filigree skillfully engraved by master craftsmen decorates the 24-inch sterling silver base. The center of the buckle features brilliant silver engraving with incredible detail. The buckle even has fully functioning pin and swivels on the back.
At the end of the inaugural 2022 season, the PBR Team Series logo in the center of the giant buckle was removed and replaced with the logo of the Nashville Stampede after they stunned the bull-riding world in Las Vegas to take the first team title.
PBR officially licensed merchandise by Montana Silversmiths is available for sale at all PBR events, through fine Western stores, Montana Silversmiths online and at https://pbrshop.com/.
