FORT WORTH, Tex. – At the tenth PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Challenger Series residency event in Fort Worth, Texas, Junio Quaresima (Meridiano, Brazil) delivered a perfect 2-for-2 showing inside Cowtown Coliseum to win the penultimate PBR Sunday at Cowtown.
Quaresima was quick to strike in Round 1, punching his ticket to the championship round after covering Rogue One (M&B Bucking Bulls) for a seventh-best 77.5 points.
Needing a big score to take the event lead, Quaresima found himself matched against Hydro (Sho-Me Rodeo/T&G). Rising to the occasion, the Brazilian matched the powerful animal athlete jump-for-jump en route to the requisite 8, and a crucial 87.5 points.
The golden finish garnered Quaresima a crucial 36.5 Challenger Series points.
Second was Arizona Ridge Riders’ Vitor Losnake (Bauru, Brazil), collecting 25.5 Challenger points.
Despite being bucked off by K4 (J.C. Knapp Rodeo Co.) in 6.2 seconds during the opening round, Losnake returned determined in the final round.
Conquering Freedom (M&B Bucking Bulls) for a championship round-best 87.5 points, Losnake surged to second on the event leaderboard.
Teammate Marco Eguchi (Poa, Brazil) followed close behind in third.
Eguchi’s podium finish was headlined by a Round 1-winning, 86-point score atop Voodoo Box (Crooked Crown Bucking Bulls/Braswell Bucking Bulls).
The 2018 PBR World Finals event winner left the iconic venue having earned 17 Challenger points.
Fourth was Taylor Toves (Stephenville, Texas).
The home state hopeful earned 10 Challenger points courtesy of his 85.5-point effort aboard Brutal Player (Mason Bucking Bulls) in Round 1.
Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Eduardo de Oliveira (Nova Lacerda, Brazil).
Oliveira conquered Midnight Troll (Drill Em in the Dirt) for 85 points in the final round to net 7 Challenger Series points.
In the bull pen, Black Fire (Silent 7/Hilton Bull Co.) bucked a cut above the rest. Crowned the Bull of the Event, Black Fire delivered the top score of the tour stop in Round 1, marked 44.5 points for a 1.48-second buckoff of Andre da Cruz de Souza (Decatur, Texas).
