The preliminary go round of this weekend's Oh Boy! Oberto Invitational, sixteenth stop on the elite Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS), concluded tonight from the Tacoma Dome. The Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) Oh Boy! Oberto Invitational welcomes elite PBR athletes back for round two on Sunday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. Sunday's event culminates with the electrifying championship round which consists of the top 15 qualifiers bucking for the event win and ultimately a shot at the biggest title in bull riding - the million dollar Built Ford Tough World Championship. The event will air on the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) on Saturday, March 19 at 9:00 p.m. live and on Sunday, March 20 also at 9:00 p.m. All times eastern standard. Brazilian native Fabricio Alves captured top honors in round one with an impressive 90.5 point score aboard Corey and Horst Bucking Bulls' Joe Millionaire. Capping off a thrilling evening of competition, Alves was awarded the opportunity to compete in the Mossy Oak Shoot Out bonus round as the first round victor. When he dominated the designated Mossy Oak Shoot Out bonus bull Red Alert, owned by Kaycee Simpson Bucking Bulls, Alves captured the lucrative Mossy Oak Shoot Out Bonus reward of $45,000. The Tacoma event represents Alves' sixth BFTS tour event of the season, and his Mossy Oak Shoot Out victory represented approximately $5,000 more than his previous career earnings in the PBR. Prior to Tacoma, Alves' most substantial payday of the 2005 season had come during U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour action in Denver, Colo. in January, where the he earned $1,921.
Matt Bohon (Cole Camp, Mo.) topped Berger and Ryken's bull Vertical Force to take second place in the go round with a 90 point score, while Lee Akin (Weatherford, Okla.) rounded out the top three with an 89 point performance aboard Don Kish Bucking Bulls' Main Man.
