Git-R-Done Invitational Round 1 Results

By PBR

The top 45 bull riders in the world took Orlando, Florida by storm at the 21st stop on the elite Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS) tour. Georgia cowboy Sean Willingham (Summerville, Ga.) thrilled fans at Amway Arena when he took a re-ride option and rode Roy Carter Bucking Bulls' Fraggle Rock for 89.5 points and won the 1st round of the Git-R-Done Invitational hosted by Tater Porter & presented by Cooper Tires.

Taking second place was Kody Lostroh (Longmont, Colo.) who rode Hookin’ Bull, owned by Murphy Ranch and Rodeo, for 88.25 points. 2002 PBR World Champion Ednei Caminhas (P. Alves, SP, Brazil) placed third in round one with a 87.75 point ride on his re-ride bull, Too Sharp (Mosley/Radke Bucking Bulls). Rounding out fourth place was Brian Canter (Randleman, NC) with an 87.5 point ride on a familiar foe, Vampire of Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC. Canter previously captured a round win on Vampire earlier in 2008.

The Zantrex-3 Insta-Shot Grudge Match showcased two Brazilian riders in its debut competition. Current no. 2 bull rider in the world, Valdiron de Oliveira (Aparecida de Goiania, GO), and three-time World Champion and PBR legend, Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, SP, Brazil), took on one bull each with the highest scored rider taking the $5,000 prize money. Both riders bucked off the bulls that were hand-selected by Livestock Director, Cody Lambert---Oliveira on Hollywood II (Herrington Cattle Co.) and Moraes on Far West (Martinez Bucking Bulls, LLC); therefore, neither claimed the prize money.

The next two Zantrex-3 Insta-Shot Grudge Match participants will be determined on Saturday, June 7 with the conclusion of the Git-R-Done Invitational. The Orlando event winner will “call out” one of his fellow riders from a list that includes previous World Champions, riders in the Top 10 BFTS standings, and 2008 BFTS event champions. With both Oliveira and Moraes bucking off, the $5,000 will now roll over to the next Grudge Match in Dallas, TX where $10,000 will be up for grabs.

As the winner of round one at the Ford Best in Texas Shootout in San Antonio, TX, J.B. Mauney (Mooresville, TX) was eligible to compete for the $5,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car “Ride with the Best” bonus during round one of the Git-R-Done Invitational hosted by Tater Porter & presented by Cooper Tires. Mauney bucked off his bull, All There; therefore, bull owners, Murphy Ranch & Rodeo took home the $5,000 check. As the winner of round one, Sean Willingham (Summerville, Ga) will be eligible to compete for the $5,000 bonus during the second round of competition in Orlando.

The Git-R-Done Invitational hosted by Tater Porter & presented by Cooper Tires continues tomorrow as the top 45 bull riders compete in round two and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round to see who will take home the first-ever Orlando event title. The event airs on VERSUS at 8:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 7 and at 8:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, June 8.

INJURY REPORT:

Paulo Crimber (Olimpia, SP, Brazil) broke his right collarbone (riding hand) and a couple of ribs on his right side when he was thrown to the ground and then his bull fell on him. He is undergoing x-rays on Monday and he will be out 2-6 months.

Ross Coleman (Molalla, Ore.) injured his neck when he landed on his head when thrown from his bull during the first round in Orlando. He is not competing on Saturday and is undergoing x-rays at home on Monday.

Brendon Clark (Morpeth, AUS) was kicked as he was thrown from his first round bull, hitting face first on the ground and sustaining a concussion. He is probable for Saturday.

Robson Palermo (Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil) aggravated a sprained left shoulder (riding hand) sustained in San Antonio when he landed on his elbow with his shoulder extended. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI of the shoulder on Monday and is questionable for Saturday night’s round.
