Kingsolver and Campbell tie for Velocity Tour win in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Cody Campbell (Summerville, Oregon) and Skeeter Kingsolver (McLouth, Kansas) tied to win the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Rochester Rumble, presented by Frontier Communications, Saturday night at the Blue Cross Arena.

Campbell started the night with an 87.5-point ride aboard Millennium’s Back (Mike Miller/Torres Bros) to win Round 1, before going on to turn in an 85.5-point ride on Lab Rat (Cornwell Bucking Bulls/Circle G/Coleman) in the championship round. It was the 30-year-old’s second Velocity Tour victory of the season, earning him 65 points toward the PBR world standings along with $6,750.

Campbell’s victory also moved him into the lead in the Velocity Tour standings and shifted him up to No. 32 in the world standings.

Kingsolver covered Paint Desert (Bar D / Rawhide Rodeo) in Round 1 for 83 points before earning 85.5 points on back of Jacked Up (J Bar W Ranch) in the championship round. Kingsolver also earned his second Velocity Tour victory of the season, snatching 65 points toward the world standings and a check for $5,850.

Campbell, who is now seeded in the Top 35, will join Kingsolver as the Velocity Tour invite next weekend in Austin, Texas, for the Built Ford Tough Series Wrangler’s Long Live Cowboys Classic, presented by Frontier Communications, Sept. 16-17.

Devon Weaver (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) earned third place after riding Devil Dog (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 85.5 points in Round 1 before eventually bucking off Can’t Be Touched (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in the championship round. The 25-year-old will be going home with 30 points towards the world standings and $3,000.

Fraser Babbington (Gisborne, New Zealand) and Taylor Toves (Stephenville, Texas) tied for fourth place, after each turning in 84.5-point rides in Round 1. Babbington covered Called In Sick (J Bar W Ranch) in Round 1 while Toves rode Walk Worthy (3S Bucking Bulls), the pair were both bucked off in the championship round. Each rider will walk away from the night with 17.5 points towards the world standings and $1,570.

The next stop on the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will be in Pendleton, Oregon, for the Banner Bank Pendleton PBR Classic on September 11-12 at the Happy Canyon Arena.

The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov. 1-5 at T-Mobile Arena.
