#InCaseYouMissedIt: Lockwood is back on top, Global Cup riders shine and more

Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

Want to know who the new world No. 1 bull rider is? Just take a wild guess. (Hint: it’s the reigning World Champion.) Plus, Jose Vitor Leme made things interesting and a number of riders were felled by injuries. Miss a moment of the action this weekend? Here’s what happened around the PBR.

On the Unleash The Beast…

It took him a few events, but 2019 World Champion Jess Lockwood was back in the winner’s circle this weekend, going 3-for-3 to take the event win – and take over the world No. 1 ranking – at the Manchester Invitational.

Right on his heels? 2019 world No. 2 Jose Vitor Leme, who won Round 1 and also went 3-for-3.

Know who also went 3-for-3? 2019 world No. 4 and current world No. 2 Joao Ricardo Vieira, who finished third overall in Manchester.

Finishing in the No. 2 spot in Manchester was Colten Jesse, who’s off to a blazing hot start to the season ahead of the 2020 PBR Global Cup USA.

2018 World Champion Kaique Pacheco may have seen his consecutive rides streak come to an end, but he began the season a flawless 8-for-8 for one of the hottest starts to a season in PBR history.

Manchester saw the return of 2016 PBR Brazil champion Dener Barbosa to the premier series for the first time since September of 2019, and he was quick to make it count.

On the injury front, Ryan Dirteater is dealing with an ankle injury, Cody Nance could be out for three months with nerve damage in his shoulder, and more.

Meanwhile, on the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour…

At the Denver Chute Out at the National Western Stock Show earlier in the week, Taylor Toves went 2-for-3 to beat 90 other cowboys for the win.

At the Baltimore Invitational, veteran Fabiano Vieira earned the event win to secure a return to the Unleash The Beast in Oklahoma City.

Cody Casper, meanwhile, earned the first Velocity event win of his career at the Portland Classic to earn a berth at Iron Cowboy, presented by Ariat.

THIS is what it’s all about.

Cody Nance couldn’t ride in Manchester, but he still had a pretty good weekend in New England.
