PUEBLO, Colo. ― Juan Alonzo (Mount Calm, Texas) picked up an 88-point ride in the short go at the Professional Bull Riders BlueDEF Velocity Tour event at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kan., last Saturday for the win.

Despite bucking off his bull just shy of the 8-second mark in the long round, Alonzo was eligible to ride in the championship round due to the Touring Pro Division short go rule. If there are not 10 qualified rides in the long round, spots in the championship round will be filled with riders who achieve the longest buck off times.

Alonzo’s 88 points landed him $3,902.65.

Austin Martin (Ashland, Mo.) won Round 1 with an 86-point score, which was also good enough for a second-place finish overall and $2,898.58. Shawn Best II (Omak, Wash.) rode for 85.5 points in the short go for third place and $2,124.03.

The Winnipeg, Canada, PBR TPD was won by Colby Reilly (Ephrata, Wash.), who put up 163.5 points overall for $3,700.14. Reilly earned 78.5 points in the long round and 85 points in the short go.

Fort Smith, Ark., PBR fans watched Carlos Garcia (Miami, Okla.) win the PBR Fort Smith Invitational last Saturday night. Garcia was the only rider to cover both of his bulls at the event, picking up 85 points in the long round and 86.5 points in the short go for a total of 171.5 points and $3,930.20.

No. 2 ranked TPD bull rider in the world Josh Faircloth (Randleman, N.C.) was unable to make the 8-second mark in the long round, but notched 88 points for the short go victory and finished second overall for $2,954.82. Budd Williamson (Stephenville, Texas) and Austin Meier (Kinta, Okla.) split third place with 85.5 points and $1,606.50 apiece.
